How to create printable membership cards

Getting Started

Thank you for purchasing the Printable Membership Cards add-on.

Be sure to follow the installation procedures if you have not yet done so.

You will see a new section in your Dashboard menu called MeprToolbox like so:

Configuring Cards

The add-on comes with a handful of settings you can configure shown in the image below. Each setting is explained in further detail below the image.

Registered Label Text

This is the text label that will be shown before the member’s registration date on their Membership card.

Membership(s) Label Text

This is the text label that will be shown before the member’s list of active memberships on their Membership card.

Renews/Expires Label Text

This is the text label that will be shown before the member’s renewal or expiration date. If the member has a lifetime membership, the word “Never” is shown.

Membership # Label Text

This is the text label that will be shown before the member’s membership number. You might want to label it Membership ID or Account Number etc.

Membership # Prefix

This is a prefix that will be shown before the member’s WordPress User ID. The WordPress User ID is unique for each member on the site. Use this to add a unique prefix to these ID’s. For example, if your prefix was set to M-NUM- member on your site had a User ID of 12864 then their membership number would read M-NUM-12864 on their Membership Card.

Background Image URL

This field is optional, but if you’d like your logo to show up in the background. Enter the URL to the image you’d like to use here. I recommend using a 150 x 150 pixel image. You can maybe go a bit shorter or a bit wider with those dimensions. Just be sure to test it and see how it looks.

Viewing Membership Card

When a member logs in and visits their MemberPress Account page. There will be a new tab at the top of the Account page titled “Print Card”.

Clicking on that will reveal a page where the user can print their membership card.

After clicking print, it would look something like this:

Troubleshooting

Background image not showing when printing

Many times the background images are not printed by default. You must configure your browser’s or computer’s print settings to show background images.

Here’s a link you can share with your members if they’re having troubles printing with the background image within a certain browser. https://rewordify.com/BackgroundColors.htm

Another option the member could try is pressing CTRL + P on Windows or COMMAND + P on Mac to bring up a different print dialogue.

Can I modify the way the Membership Card looks?

I’m hoping a future release will have a way to more easily modify the appearance/HTML of the card. But for now it is pretty much limited to the options shown above. If you or your developer wants to make manual modifications, you can do so from the /app/controllers/AppCtrl.php file. But I don’t currently support issues with customization’s.

As always, If you have any questions, please contact me anytime, thanks!
