How to configure and use display name add-on

Getting Started

Thank you for purchasing the Set Display Name add-on.

Be sure to follow the installation procedures if you have not yet done so.

You will see a new section in your Dashboard menu called MeprToolbox like so:

Click on the menu item to configure your Display Name settings.

Configuring Options

You can choose between various options to use for the Display Name:

  • First Name (John)
  • Last Name (Doe)
  • Full Name (John Doe)
  • Full Name, Last Name first (Doe, John)
  • First Name, Last Initial (John D.)
  • Last Name, First Initial (Doe, J.)
  • Username (johndoe)
  • Email ([email protected])

This doesn’t currently apply this setting to all existing users, but you can enable the Force update of username on User Login option to force their Display Name to update when they login.

By default, this add-on will update the Display Name anytime the user’s profile is updated in the dashboard, or if they update their Account page information. You can disable it when saving user profiles in the dashboard by unchecking the Force update of Display Name when saving WordPress User Profiles option.

Administrators are not affected by these changes. Admins may set and use their own Display Names in their User Profiles in the dashboard.

That’s all there is to this one!

If you have any questions, please contact me anytime, thanks!
